As the elected leadership of your chapter, you are responsible for developing a strategic plan that will promote the success, growth, and stability of your chapter . The first important step in setting goals is to determine your current situation. Where is your chapter strong? Where is your chapter average? In what areas does your chapter need improvement? These are all questions that must be answered in order to determine realistic and attainable goals. To help you perform this daunting task, the Executive Office of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International has created the Gold Standard.

The Gold Standard is the standard expected for all chapters of Sigma Pi and has been created to evaluate ALL aspects of chapter operations fairly and objectively. The Gold Standard emphasizes the ritual, scholarship, membership recruitment and development, chapter operations, alumni relations, philanthropy, community service, campus image, social and brotherhood programming as key focus areas important for the successful operation of an undergraduate chapter.

It is crucial that when completing the Gold Standard, the evaluators are honest and truthful about assigning point totals for the aforementioned categories. We have asked that certain undergraduate members and chapter advisors sign and date their name at the end of each section to verify accuracy. As each section is completed, it is crucial to make sure that all required documentation is provided. Failure to have the needed signature or provide the required documentation will result in lost points for that section.

The work you do now will influence Sigma Pi Fraternity in one way or another. Take this opportunity to ensure your legacy within the fraternity and the successful future of your chapter. The goal of Sigma Pi's Grand Council is to be the leading men's collegiate fraternity in North America; it can only be achieved if each chapter takes it upon themselves to be the best that they can. It is our sincere wish that you have the best fraternal experience possible and you are a part of the best Greek organization on your campus. If the Executive Office can assist you in anyway, please do not hesitate to contact us.
